Luz Rios

Latin pop singer-songwriter Luz Ríos is making an indelible mark on the music scene with the release of her latest work: “Aire.” Originally from Cuernavaca, Morelos, México, Luz has been hailed as “one of the best voices I’ve heard in a very long time” by none other than Mexican icon singer-songwriter Joan Sebástian. Joan’s admiration of Luz’s work is such that he agreed to record a duet with her on the single “Aire,” a rare exception for this legendary songwriter who only records his own compositions.

“Aire” earned Luz two Latin Billboard Music nominations for “Hot Latin Song of the Year/Vocal Event” and “Regional Mexican Airplay Song of the Year/Female Category.” The song made a Hot Shot debut at No. 40 on Billboard’s Latin Pop chart. In R&R, “Aire” spent 16 weeks on the Regional Mexican chart, and 7 weeks in Latin Pop.

With three prior CDs under her belt: “Ayer, Hoy y Siempre” (1998), “De Mi Corazón” (2004) and “Luz Ríos” (2005), Luz says “Aire” is her most complete, versatile and personal work to date. “A Latin pop album with a rock edge and acoustic instrumentation and arrangements that move you into the songs,” she says, “from intimate ballads that have heart felt lyrics to songs of love and despair.”
