Is a very talented Colombian singer internationally recognized for her mastery of tropical style and formerly singer of La Sonora Dinamita. At the age of 20 a well known record label company discovered her talent and she was offered a recording contract. In 1989 and already being part of “La Sonora Dinamita” had numerous hits such as “Ya Para Que”, “EL Desamor”. In 1993 she recorded “ESCANDALO”, a tropical classic hit and as a result of the success of this song, Vilma became recognized as “DIVA DE LA CUMBIA”. In early 2010 Vilma Díaz released two singles “Loquita por tí” and “No Renunciaré” which are now played in most popular tropical music worldwide radio stations.

Vilma has performed for the King of Spain, the President of El Salvador (Alfredo Cristiani) during the signing of an historical Peace Treaty, and she has received the keys and has been named honorary citizen of several cities.

Vilma has been called to appear on the line up of very many high profile Latin music shows like “Despierta America”, “Sabado Gigante”, “Jerry Lewis Show”, “Cotorreando”, “La Movida”, “Siempre En Domingo”, “El Show de Johnny Canales”. “12 Corazones”, “Adelante Hispanos”, “El Show de Cristina”, as well as live performances in “Fiesta Broadway”(Los Angeles), “Festival De La Calle 8″(Miami), “Viva Chicago Festival”, Macro Plaza”(Monterey-Mexico), “Madison Square Garden” NYC, “Calgary Festival” (Canada), top of the major Central and South America, and Europe Concerts and Festivals. Her life and hit songs have been covered in all top publications, TV and radio stations.

Vilma continues singing with her implacable voice and her own band “Vilma Díaz Y La Sonora” which one maintains same quality and some of the original Colombian musicians that also played and recorded in 90’s with “La Sonora Dinamita”.
