Kandelo

Born in Puerto Rico, KANDELO brings a unique style to the music industry. His music genres include Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Reggaeton, and R&B, in both English and Spanish. KANDELO began singing and performing on a school stage at the age of seven, and since then has touched the world with his powerful songs, many of which are based on personal life experiences. He began his career as a lead singer in a group called “The Brooklyn Boyz” where he sang and performed various salsa and merengue songs. He left Brooklyn Boyz to begin a solo career as “Angel de La Salsa.”

In 2004, he won an award for Mentionable Honor at the Fesitival de La Cancion in California. In 2005, he traveled to Puerto Rico where he worked with producers Genio Kila and Ricky Cash amongst others to work on a unique reggaeton style, and changed his to name to fit that style “KANDELO.” He produced and performed his own reggaeton CD with hits such as “SOLA” and “REGGAETON ROMANTICO” that featured singer Ina K Ina. In addition to songwriting, singing, and dancing, KANDELO participated in his first acting roll in a film called “BX Thug Soldiers.” KANDELO has had the pleasure of performing for fans in various community events which include; The NYC Puerto Rican Day Parade, Lower East Side Festivals, Jambalaya Events, 116th Street Festivals, South Street Seaport, Festival Del Nino, Festival Viva Ecuador, 3 Kings Parade, Bronx P.R. Queen Pageant, Diamonte Show, Cue Club, Primer Impacto, P.R.’s First Music Business Conference, No Te Duermas Television Show, Feria de La Salud Festival, Festival Boricua in the Bronx and many, many more.

He has traveled throughout the United States and the Caribbean for both performances and interviews. The most unique aspects about this artist are his love for his fans and humbleness. KANDELO, also known as El Rey de Humilidad, enjoys spending time with his fans, responding to their requests and most of all, showing love. He also enjoys performing and speaking to inner city kids about keeping strong, being focused, and reaching their goals. Life dealt Kandelo many tragedies such as losing his immediate family and raising himself from the age of 17.
