Raulito Navaira

Raulito Navaira

Raulito Navaira was born February 10, 1968 in San Antonio, Texas.

Growing up in the Southside of San Antonio with his family Emilio Navaira Jr. (father), Maria Navaira (mom), Yvette Navaira (sister), and Emilio Navaira III, (brother) there was never a moment without music. Their father kept his kids busy and out of trouble, by purchasing intruments.  The Navaira kids learned to play the instruments, and practiced as a family.  The Navairas excelled in the music programs in the, Harlandale Independent School District, participating in many UIL competition. They also had performances in the San Antonio Symphony and professional Opera tours.  Sister Yvette Navaira was the first to perform professionally with local Latin bands, and would take little brother Raulito along with her.  From seeing his sister perform live he decided that music should be a big part of his life.

In 1983 Emilio Navaira III was offered the job to be the lead vocalist for David Lee Garza Y Los Musicales. His father would give his permission as long as Raulito would be in the band.  The brothers Emilio and Raulito were with David Lee Garza y Los Musicales for almost six years; Emilio then decided that it was time for a solo career. Emilio and Raulito formed a new band, “Emilio y Rio”. in 1989. Raulito was the stage manager, recording producer and song writer.  He wrote most of the groups hits such as. “Como Le Hare”, “Eclipse”, “Ya  No Me Pones Atencion”, “Rueda De Fortuna”, and many more. Through out the years they have won numerous Tejano music awards, A Grammy in 2003, and a Latin Grammy in 2008. They had toured Mexico since 1992, two major Country tours with Alan Jackson in 1996, and Clay Walker in 1997.

On March 23rd 2008 Emilio, Raulito and Rio suffered a bus accident in Houston Texas; Emilio had suffered major head trauma. After all the support and prayers for the Navaira brothers, Emilio is doing much better and is going to make a great recovery. Raulito has continued to play his music throughout the Latin world. He recorded a new CD, “Simplemente Raulito Por Mientras”, with his nephews Emilio IV, Diego, Daughter Destiny, and Son Rodrigo.  He looks forward to recording Lauren, Emilee, Pani and Freeda, the next Navaira Generation, in years to come.

Raulito is currently a spokesperson for World Car of San Antonio on the Univision network.  He is sponsored by Barcel food products, Cevallos Insurance, and Alamo Hats out of Moore Texas.  Raulito plans to keep recording and touring while his brother Emilio is in recovery, and is preparing the stage for the come back of Emilio and Raulito!!!!!!!!!!
