Gill Jimenez grew up in the west side of San Antonio, TX listening to his Grandfather DON Santiago Jimenez and his father, Flaco Jimenez; the legendary Principe Icon de la Acordion and Seven time Grammy Award winner. Gills admiration for his Grandfather and father’s music gave him the inspiration to teach himself to play his own style of Tejano, Conjunto and International music. From a very young age, Gill would enter numerous competitions and shows. His success in the competitions convinced him that he wanted the life of a musician. Gill started playing drums with his father at an early age.He also sang with one of his long time friends who had a Mariachi group. Gill would sometimes sneak out of his bedroom to go sing with his father’s friends at the neighborhood bars. At the age of 10 he began playing with various local bands. He developed a style of playing Conjunto, Tejano and Rock and Roll. His CD is entitled, Amor y Dolor. Gill sings about the love he has had and the many heartaches in his life. All Gill’s lyrics come from personal life experiences. For that reason, he feels that many can relate to his songs.
