Floating markets are a feature culture of Mekong Delta. Markets are on the rivers with hundreds boats. The general feature of the floating market is that every boat has a pole, on which its products are hung upon the pole.

On a floating market all trade activities take place on boats. The largest floating markets include Phung Hiep, Nga Bay, Phong Dien (in Hau Giang), Cai Rang (in Can Tho) and Cai Be (in Tien Giang). Most of the agricultural productions sold in cho noi are for wholesalers, who then re-sell it to food processing factories or ship it to the north.

There’re two famous floating markets in Cantho city, Vietnam: Cai Rang floating market is just 6km far from Cantho city center, specializes selling fruits and agricultural products of the whole region; Phong Dien floating market is located 17km far from the city, at the South East direction, selling farming tools and crafts products.

Start from Ninh Kieu wharf, the boat trip will take travelers along the Can Tho river to enjoy the fresh air and experience the simple life of the people here. Go to Cai Rang floating market, travelers can visit and witnessed the busiest trading with various fruits and unrique products of Mekong river. Then stop at the orchards to enjoy seasonal fruits, learn living definition of Southern Vietnam people.
